I love love love lo fi music. It's such a versitle creative force and is always utterly authentic to it's original intentions and message. Lo Fi can't lie-what you hear is really what you are hearing, I think that's why I love it so much. The challenge of all excites me as well. "How does one make a tape recorder sound good? And if I can't make it sound good, how can I make it sound so bad that it becomes good?" that sort of stuff.
lofi bands that I like are Beat Happening, The Misfits early stuff, Bob Dylan's Basement Tracks, Springteen's Nebraska, The Moldy Peaches, Japanther, Smog, early Devendra Banhart, The Field Mice, The Microphones, Daniel Johnston, the Space Lady, and much much more.
