The Constant Edit

Art has to have immediacy, ferocity, integrity, and power to have any impact. It cannot be safe.

After some thought about past efforts I have come to the conclusion that my sculptures and installations were much stronger in both aesthetics and material usage than my paintings and drawings. My two dimensional works are quite different from my sculptures.

Some installation plans include images from one of my other blogs. I plan on expanding them further and to view them simple look at my myspace blogs that have text and colors.

I made the paintings with the intention of selling them and making profit. The sculptures have nothing to do with money and don't want to sell any of them. Maybe this is why they are visually more appealing than the paintings.

I plan on covering a city block with shag carpet and set a war that involves return to oz rollarskaters throwing glue and glitter filled water bombs at white people dressed in blackie costumes doing an indian dance with a circle of burning Christmas trees surrounding the area. Tons of streamers and strobe lights will be there too.

Maybe some of you know of my ideas about performances and I have talked in great detail about it to many of you. I have yet to perform one though with the exception of what I did at the Jackpot six months ago that involved choreographed dance and costumes inside of bar while playing crunk music. . .

I also noticed that many people seem to unaware of contemporary artists and their work. Why is that? Dan Colen, Aaron Young, Assume Vivid Astro Focus, WoWoW!, Ryan McGinley, T. Koh, Dash Snow, Mamma Anderson, et cet?

I think that academia can kill creativity.
