Do not say "this is the worst" before you have seen tomorrow.

I'm not a political person, for the most part, but I do believe that our generation needs to speak LOUDER about global warming issues. Somehow, we haven't delivered the primal scream necessary to get our 50+ yr old politicians to listen, especially here in KS/MO.

Maybe instead of working through them we should work on our own? After all, we will run this tattered beast of a country one day so we might as well go ahead and get the ball rolling.

Do not use plastic bags. Bring your own bags.
Ride your bicycle. Ask the city to provide bike lanes if needed.
Insulate your home for the winter to cut cost, energy emissions.
Recycle bottles, plastic, cardboard, glass, et cet.

Ride the Bus.
For roughly $1,000, you can convert your crude oil vehicle to run off of biodiesel or svo. Even though a grand may seem like a pinch now, it is probably less or equal to the amount of gas money that you spent in 2008 alone. Just consider who much gas in 2009 or 10 will cost.

Now is a good moment to switch because the cost of converting to biodiesel may become more expensive in the future due to the likelihood of higher demand in face of inflating gas prices.

There is no such thing as clean coal energy. The Coal Industry invented the term to cover their asses. The coal industry has not discovered a way to safely dispose of the CO-2 that they emit in billions of gallons each day. The Coal Industry is, and will be, a major force of environmental damage.

Wind energy is a great technology that has much potential for use, esp. here in Kansas and MO.
